Matt's hunt was badass - no doubt. Great stalk, perfect shot placement and Dustin filmed the impact in 240 fps slow motion. It's epic!
Thanks guys, it was a pretty awesome hunt and a hell of a memory. Dustin runs a great operation out there, it is beautiful country and there are a LOT of good muleys. The full story will have to wait until the show airs but here are a few teaser pics!
Well he ran about 30 yards and basically jumped off a cliff after I shot him. The only realistic option was to quarter him out where he died and pack him out in pieces. We actually filmed how to do the gutless method, I’m guessing it will show up at some point on the website or another show in the future.
Havent ever done anything but the field dress and drag method. Was always intrigued to try it other ways but never found myself in that predicament where i had to. Sounds like will be a good episode
Watched it and it was honestly one of my favorite episodes man. Congrats on a super nice buck. And its nice to see a few out of shape guys like me acting like little kids on Christmas morning. Great episode. That first one was a dandy buck also. Congrats again! Ask the expert: Had to make these changes with my peep sight as well. Just turned 47 and I think it was 2 years ago I had to start wearing readers all of the sudden. I went to me eye dr and did some trial runs with bifocal contacts and found a clarifier that works in addition. Getting older sucks.
That was a great episode to watch. awesome shot on a beautiful buck- congrats Matt! Justin, that's a bummer you weren't able to get a follow up shot on your buck, one of the worst feelings is to botch a shot, and I appreciate the attitude you have about it. You'll slam a good whitetail this fall!
