The top pic is of a buck I was getting pics of a few years ago. The last pics I got of him was in 2010. The bottom pic is a pic I got just last week. Do yoiu think they might be related?

Definitely. Same rack characteristics and almost a carbon copy.

I'd say 3.5, could be 4.5 but I doubt it.

You realize that if he was 3.5 in 2010 that this could easily be the same deer in 2014 at 7.5 years old right.

The article posted a while back that followed the life of one particular buck. Charles Alsheimer followed that buck until he was like 12.5 years old and I'd say that buck of yours could easily be argued in the correct age range. That frame is just too exact to me to not be suspect of being the same deer....maybe I'm crazy.

I thought the same thing at first, but I didn't think he looked that old in the pic from this year. But then again, I am not good at aging deer. LOL!!

No, my first impression was that he didn't look that old either...but he is standing in an odd pose in the current pic. Deer and aging can also be an odd thing. I recall cases of known aged bucks posted on the forum before that were 8+ and guesses ranged from 3.5 to 6+.
Harvest that deer and have the teeth aged and then we'll know!

I have an 8 point that last year his right side matched a right side shed from a buck back in 07 and I mean it matched shape wise perfectly. I know there is no way this current 8 is the same deer because I think he's 5+ but no way he's 10+. So the offspring thing is perfectly plausible too.

I'm rather new to the hunting seen, but have notice on the property that I hunt. There are several 2-3 year old bucks that all have similar racks to a buck that we shot last year that was a 4-5 year old. It makes sense to me that it could be offspring.
