Got anything you need to get done?

I'm going to put together my feeder and get a new ground blind for turkey season.

I'd like to keep shooting quite a bit.

Well since Rabbits are open until the end of February, Coyotes will keep me occupied until spring gobblers so my off season doesn't really start until April/May after chasing Turkeys, after that I'll be busting my ass at work so I can take the needed time off in the fall to do it all over again!

Non-hunting related? Plenty. Remodeling the family room (in progress), finish outside retaining wall and pour new patios/stairs. Replace deck boards and restain.

    Hunting related?

Suck it up and buy a new hunting bow.
Get shooting again (haven't shot much since the end of the season).
Get my trailcam built and out (in progress)
    Prep/plant food plots

Stay in shape for CO. I wanna go there at 185#.

Tune the new bow I have coming in March.

Average about 50 arrows shot/day from now 'til March. Then step it up a bit. I want to feel comfortable at 40yds when I get to CO.

Get my bowfishing boat all set up for when the water warms a bit. And the usual shed huntin, scoutin for next season, thickening up some areas in my woods to make more bedding cover, plant food plots.

Scout a 2000 acre public area 10-15 minutes from my farm to give me more options.

No bucks there, everyone knows that;).....I did find 4 nice doe bedding areas though over the weekend, but not much in terms of buck sign. The bucks are in there, just a little more leg work to locate their bedrooms, and hopefully their headgear.

For me, my offseason WAS going to be centered around shed hunting/scouting, and creating some small food plots for the first time. However, the food plots have been put on hold for a few different reasons.

My focus has now switched to planning an elk hunt come September with a few good friends. If everything follows through with it, then I will probably be spending my summer trying to get into better shape to tackle the demands of the mountains. I also feel like if I can extend my shooting range an extra 10 yards (from 40 to 50), then it will make me feel alot better IF we end up doing the hunt. Still a lot of planning and decision making before we put anything on the calender though.

Other than that, I am going to be chasing turkeys for the 2nd year with my bow. I struck out last year, but I'm looking to put an arrow in an old Illinois gobbler this spring.
