Being a "newbie" to compound archery, all the sight adjustments are plum wearing me down. I started shooting at a 26 lb. draw weight and in the last month I've gradually moved up to 35 lbs. Trouble is that each time I bump up the poundage, there goes my sights--which I just got through adjusting! I'm bored with 15 yards ( I have almost....almost wore OUT the black dots and heart on two sides of the BLOCK target) but moving up in weight and moving back to more challenging yardage is enough to make me scream. Am I going about this all wrong? or is this just the tough breaks being a newbie? Thanks!
sounds like your starting out right and as far as your sights go you should only adjust it vertically as you move back. if your bow is tuned then your windage should stay the same.
That's what I thought. The farther I move back the more right my shots are going. I'm about to install a new rest and I will make sure it is centered properly. I'll try adjusting for the farther shots I want to make and walk forward and see if it's still on. If none of this clears it up, I'll go get some help from someone who knows better than me
Thanks guys! Got my rest... just didn't get it on today. Tomorrow it will be raining all day, so I intend to tackle it.
