Howdy, I have a question about my new 7" Octane stabilizer. I tried sending Octane an email but they never responded. I just bought this stabilizer and it didn't have any directions with it. Here is question. There is the threaded end of the stabilizer that screws into the bow but it came with a screw in the piston end. When tightened down this screw sticks out a 1/2 inch. This screw seems rather pointless. Am I supposed to leave it in or throw it away? Thanks
Its for adding weight to the end of your stabilizer. If your not wanting to add more weight then you can throw the screw away.
The screw on the other end is where you put your weights. Did you stabilizer come with the weights? There should have been at least one included in the package.
First off thank you everyone. Octane wouldn't even bother to write back to me. Second, no there was nothing in the package except for the stabilizer.
How long ago did you email them? I've had great customer service so far out of the people I've dealt with, mathews, axion, and blacks creek. All had my questions answered in under 2 days, and even bushnell. I've been working in warranty for many years and to me it is a total reflection of the company. If they dont have good customer service, then I would never buy anything from there.
Actually, the screw that comes with the 7" Octane stab is merely there to hold the stab in place in its packaging... you'll note that it goes through a cardboard "oval" piece and then secures in the end; this keeps the stab from flopping all around during shipping and holds it perfectly to be seen inside the viewing window. When you remove the stab from its packaging, unscrew the screw and toss it in your junk drawer if you want, or simply toss it... it'll serve no further purpose. If you do decide you want to purchase the accessory weights to screw into the threaded hole at the end of the stab (I've got them affixed to all three of my 7" Octane stabs), those weights come with their own threaded shaft that you'll screw into the receiving hole.
