I'm looking into purchasing some of the products offered by Octane and I was wondering if they are really what they are talked up to be and if they really are worth that extra bit of money.

I love them. As you can tell in my sig I use them all. I have no complaints at all about any of them.

I was switching from a whisker biscuit and wanted to stick with a containment style rest while losing the contact the vanes had with the WB. Also I have the mind set that the less moving parts means less things to go wrong.

you are right about the moving parts statement. did you notice a difference in arrow speed due to the less contact area of the Hostage over the WB, Did you have problems with the WB pulling off vanes and lastly does the Hostage hold the arrow there securely sense it has small brushes

Yes I did pick up some arrow speed with the Hostage over the WB, but I made a bunch of changes to my bow at one time so I couldn't give you an exact FPS. For the record though I was concerned more with noise then the FPS in my switch.
The only time I had issues with vanes being pulled off with the WB was when the front of the vane became loose then the WB would make it worse and eventually pull it off.
The Hostage will hold the arrow securely as long as it is installed correctly. When I get home this evening I can take a pic of an arrow in my rest and post it up here if you would like to see how it would look.

I've been using the Hostage Pro for several months now. I love it. It's simple, it holds my arrow securely(if installed properly and brushes are adjusted), it's quiet, and has improved my accuracy. My only complaint with it is I have to change the bottom brush every couple of months because I shoot so much. I shoot 24-50 arrows almost daily. Making the brush change is simple.
