"This is what democracy looks like!!" ......yikes. Let's stick with the Representative Republic, thank you very much.
Comparing Mr Smith to the sect of society that lives on welfare and gimmies is stupid. 2 entirely different things. But in the end they both probably have the same problem.... living beyond their means and income. I shouldn't have to support either of them. Mr Smith screws up.... he should get fired. "The Poor and unhireable".... I didn't cause them to do drugs, booze and have a hundred kids outside of marriage. I don't owe either of them a living by giving them my money because they protest Wall Street. What a crock of crap. It's not societys fault these people are in such trouble in most cases. It's because they've been fed a free lunch every time they cry poor me.. Why on earth should I work hard to get somewhere if in the end I have to give it to someone who refuses to do anything but ask for the free lunch. It's become a class system of those who work and those who live by not working. We now have generations within families who live to get on welfare, draw their free lunch passes and demand more. Taking them out of the gene pool would solve most of our problems. We could give them everything we've worked for and in a year they'd be demanding more because they would have blown it. Ignorance is correctable....... stupid is permanent.
Who says all these protesters are on welfare? Mighty big assumption, LOL Mr. Smith the banker and Mr. Smith the home owner both screwed the pooch. Mr. Smith the banker is supposed to protect the banks assets, clearly a lot of them did not. Mr. Smith the home owner is supposed to live within his means, clearly he did not. Pointing the figure at one group and saying their the problem is not going to fix diddle. We clearly have a lot of social and economic issues that need to be addressed.
The USA's biggest problem Is they (the government) like to give too much. Inviting and giving free college education to people In different countries. Drives me nuts.
total waste of time. i can think of a few ways to spend time rather than sitting around and crying about stuff. how about using this time to help out organizations like habitat for humanity or other charities. they always need help
Not sure if this is linked with the hacker group anonymous but they are claiming war against the NYSE and have made several videos on youtube. They are defending the protestors. Check it out on youtube, pretty crazy stuff. search for theanonmessage I think thats what it was. Either way they are just going to scare investors into pulling money out of the stock market and hurt our economy! Some people are saying that this whole thing is a conspiracy created by the GOV. to justify restricting/censoring the internet. Pretty crazy though. This same group of hackers also swears they will shut down facebook on nov. 5.
We are going down the tollet. Our probelm starts with congress in Washington. Another problem we have is that we have roughly 25% of us voting. Quit *****ing. Register to vote, and "Fire" every single congressman in Washington. Set up term limits(2), and balance our budgets! We live in the greatest country in the World!!!!
There's a number of things wrong with this country. Tax code, entitlement spending, outside influence into politics... the list goes on... and there are a number of possible solutions to some... flat / consumption tax, disbanding most federal departments and moving them to a state level (doe, epa...) However, getting back to the occupy wall street. If you look at what's going on, it's not a revolution. It's far from a revolution. These people have no leadership, they have no answers, they just have complaints, and some are viable and real. I believe if you look hard enough these people are lost with no direction and it speaks against the current administration. They were promised the greener pasture and recieved only muddy land. Now they are pointing fingers and wanting answers. At the same time you have some political people calling them the "Democratic tea party" and others not even acknowledging their existance. I've heard (have not seen) that they have now allowed unions to protest with them, which is exactly who they are against. If they want a revolution, a movement, just to be taken seriously, they need to clean themselves up, show they are contributing to the progress of this country, get some leadership, have a goal or set of "demands", be attached to no government party, and run out all of the people who are just there hoping to get punched by a cop so they can have a viral youtube video.
Yet, instead of looking at the prez (the leader of their party) and demanding he preform, they blame wall street and republicans. The biggest problem with liberals that I consistently see is that they do not like to accept responsibility and all they can do is point fingers.
I dunno.. I googled Occupy wallstreet and came up with this at the very top of the page 1 of Google. Seems to me that they know exactly what they want. The problem with many of us on this forum.. like most Americans.. is we listen to much to radio and television... and then some guy we work with instead of really digging into a problem... cause let's face it.. hearsay is just easier to do. http://www.washingtonpost.com/natio...-our-leaders/2011/10/11/gIQAjHtZcL_story.html
No here is the problem... People that protest that don't have jobs are the ones who went to college to study Art or under water basket weaving and now cant find a job....hhhmmmm.... Or it is the people that didn't go to college and now expect to make $20 an hour to tighten a freakin bolt.... TAXING BIG COMPANIES WILL NOT WORK!!!! Why you ask? Because companies like to make money... If you tax them and take that money away then they will go to china and find cheaper labor to make up for it... People need to understand that if the big companies can make money then they will be able to open up more jobs... I think we need to be looking at other ways this country can get out of debt and back on track.... Did you know that the Porn industry made over 14 billion dollars in 2001 and the numbers have been going up every year... Maybe we should go back to church and stick to our wives and BOOM there is 14 billion back in the economy right there... Bottom line.... Know your situation an live like it.... If your job only pays you $20K a year... Dont live like it pays $40K
I love how getting paid 20.00 hour to tighten a bolt is pointed out, LOL Really? Why would we not want to have high wages in this country for people, the more people make the more they spend. I think it's great some CEO bankers make the coin they do. What other sector of business could you screw the pooch and need billions to get bailed out and get a bonus. If a guy is making a decent living screwing on a bolt, well he needs to have a reality check. We can get a china man, woman or kid to do the same work with a cheaper lead based bolt
My response to Occupy Wall St. is Occupy DHHR. So half the people out there can't pick up their check i'm paying for.
Isn't GM one of those employers with high pay for non-degree workers that had to take a huge bail-out from the taxpayers? Should tightening a bolt really earn you enough income to retire in your 50's with full benefits while the company goes bankrupt or is forced to move some or all of its production out of the country? Really?
GM is paying it back, and GM was not forced to move anything off shore, LOL Fletch I worked for them for six year I have watch them move parts to brazil to save .02 a part from an American company. Only to have that same supplier shut down the plant because of bad parts and shipping delays. It cost them millions. GM did moved most of the Pontiac division off shore, we don't have Pontiacs anymore not because they did not sell, but they lost money on the ones they sold that were imported. You cannot blame UAW for GM's collaspe, did they have some fault, hell yes, was it more 25 years of piss poor management, that would be a yes to anyone who has worked with GM or for GM. I know each side wants to blame the other, but both sides blow.
My point was that people complain about getting laid off when they are asking for more money than the job deserves. I agree that people should strive for higher wages... But go to school or learn a trade to put you in a situation to work a job that deserves the high wages...
