The link Christine discredited, and called me a lackey? Now it's a good article and link?

The point is this needs to stop, stop posting bogus stories, bogus regulations, bogus claims about what the right or left did.
It just needs to stop, some republicans are doing so. LA gov has gained much respect from me, he's said and done the right things.

Look at MI gov has done, balance budget, unemployment down and has the state headed in the right direction. You'll never see him make public comment about Obama, he does his job. We need more of these people.

The point is that the rumor started based on actual events that happened in her home state.

Yes, but used the things her state was doing as an attack on the current US administration. The US administration actually put the kibosh on that practice. I think that was Germ's point.

I was just pointing out that it wasn't something just made up. It stemmed from actual events that took place.

I'm going to have to quit going to bed so early if you kids cant get along! That's gonna really piss me off. Now, what I heard was that Obama wanted to learn how to drive a tractor and Biden told him he would have to get a CDL if he drove a tractor in Chicago. But, Biden's statement was later proven to be in error. He has since apologized to the President and Obama has yet to drive a tractor. Unless you count the John Deere lawn mower he gave a quick spin while campaigning in Cedar Rapids. Which ofcourse did not require a CDL, but I hear there are rumors of pending regulation changes on that.

Great, but the point is people love to spread "rumors" and state them as facts on both sides, it's a real problem. It's extremely hard to actually fix anything when we have to wade through all this BS. Some folks on this board post this BS as fact, in all honesty it's embarassing.

Perhaps some sort of licenseing for farm equipment isnt a bad idea. Or at least age requirements.
Equipment just keeps getting bigger and bigger. If you cant drive a car do you really need to be driving equipment that big??
I also Think perhaps farmers should have to purchase yearly permits to run equipment down roads. After all they are the ones tearing them up.

I drove a tractor since I was 10, farm kids drive better than most drivers.

    Leave the farmers alone

There are farm kids who are great drivers, but there are terrible ones as well. While I do believe farmers should be shown some leniency from CDL requirements. It also scares me that I can legally jump in a semi for the very first time pulling 30 tons of hay on a 40 ft long trailer and drive through town, without as much as one hour of training. I talked to a state trooper once and he said the farm exemption has gone way beyond the original intent of hauling crop from field to farm.

Vendetta, thanks for clarifying stuff, I just wasn't picking that out of what you had said. Like I said, just wanted to see and try to understand different viewpoints, thanks!
As far as taxes, here is an idea...increase taxes for the members of Congress and the Pres/Vice Pres. The Obama administration is trying to affect the military Tricare rates and our pension because they believe what we get is too high. How about looking at a President's pension, a 6 figure sum (over $400,000) a year once they are no longer in office, for life. But apparently when a soldier retires, approx $2000 a month is too much before taxes....maybe it's time to start making cuts from the TOP down, rather than go after the little guy. Oh and it was nice to see that the Obamacare mandate was ruled unconstitutional. My biggest heartache is Obama's actions/lack of actions with the military and really hoping that the truth comes out from the Libya fiasco.

Like the rumor that Bush attacked Iraq for oil, and for Haliburton.;)
I agree, it needs to stop.

Were you in the Joint Chief of Staff's/President's meetings leading up to the Iraq invasion?

There you go again. Stop spreading those rumors. Just because they weren't found doesn't mean the evidence didn't say they were there.

Saddam was really helpful and allowed inspectors full access. :D

Stating they were not there is not a rumor, they were not, that's fact we know.

Here is a fact we know Germ. A current President stating he wants to exponentially hike the taxes on "the rich" (there we go again labelling folks but when certain groups of our society get labelled all hell breaks loose) to pander for votes prior to the election, thereby further and strategically pitting American against American, all under the guise of "wanting to help society". Yeah right.

Just because they weren't there doesn't mean we didn't think they were.

Therefore, not a lie. But instead, a mistake.

To summarize, we could have gone there to get them, even though it turns out they weren't.

So please stop saying it was for oil, you don't know that to be a fact.

What is the exact hike? Is not 4%? Is 4% exponentially? BTW I am completey against and hike until we have across the board cut in the budget. We stop all foreign aid, and bring back all our troops.
