Hey guys, here is a video I put together from opening day here on Oahu. I know the seasons are over there on the mainland so I thought you guys might like this. The video is from February 1st and I finished this up last night. It's only about three and a half minutes but we were up there about 18 hours. If you're ever in Hawaii, make sure you look into hunting. It's cheap and an experience like no other. I'll be sad when I'm gone in 6 months but the season takes me till I leave! I hope you like it. I think I can talk my wife into a hunting trip to Hawaii....beaches and sun for her and bowhunting for me...
Thanks everyone. It is a tough hunt but well worth it. Ill be out there again tomorrow. Hopefully by the time I leave here ill be ready to chase elk this fall.
I never would have even thought to hunt in Hawaii. That is pretty cool! That seems like a pain in the butt to carry that goat up the cliffs and out to the car!
There's all types of hunting on the islands. Packing out isn't bad. Just bone it out in the mountains and start the walk. Its just about all down hill once you get one.
Here on Oahu we have an Archery only area that is open year round. I'm really not to sure about the other islands seasons though. I'm trying to go check some out before I leave to chase Axis Deer and Mouflon Sheep. One island even has blacktail.
