    Wow, what a scarey thought.

I'm just glad we actually have some Dems. who will actually listen to their constituents. Obama's speech in the morning is going to be sickening, I wish the NRA was able to do a rebuttal on the national level or evening a debate with him.

My brother down the hill from me and his flaming left wing wife have tried to assure me is all the "people" want is to regulate the assult weapons. I called him tonight and told him to come and get the illegal weapon of his I have been storing for him in my house. They got all yuppie with grand kids and stuff. I told them just hide the shells. They wanted to hide the guns in my house. However... he still has smaller guns in his house. Isn't that stupid. So I have his 9 millimeter with a pistol grip in my house. I tried to tell them the goal was to take away all our guns. They tried to assure me no way, I was paranoid and all that. NOW .... he's hiding a gun in my house that's illegal. I told him to come and get it in the morning. He says, I'm grandfathered. I said that's fine.... come and get your gun.

I'd just like to add.. for the record.

Massachusetts was actually the first step towards gun control with the banning of assault weapons.

Anyone wanna tell me who the governor of that state was who passed it?

    Anybody?

Romney and probably why he lost so many gun states. We didn't have a very good opposition to oust Obama and now we pay for it

We are paying for it by being subject to policies that we do not agree with. Be it "the affordable heath care act" or stricter gun regulations that he is getting ready to announce. We are paying for it in the form of taxes being raised, health care premiums raising, inflation, no federal budget, fiscal cliffs. These are all things, that as a conservative, I feel I(we) are paying for that we do not want. If your a liberal that voted for O, than maybe you feel differently. Maybe he is doing exactly what you wanted. As a conservative, it is not how I feel our country should be ran.

You may feel banning assault weapons does not conflict with the 2nd amendment. But to me, it's the same as saying a person can have freedom of religion, as long as your not a muslim, or you have the right to free speech, as long as you don't talk about politics. It's a form of limiting freedom, anyway you look at it.

Then why cannot we not buy automatic weapons?
Should I have a be able to buy a tank?

The question is where do we draw the line? Who determines the line? How the heck do we enforce the line?

I disagree with what NY and Obama is doing right now, but I will not panic until it is played out.

You can buy an automatic weapon, they are just classified differently, and regulated at a higher level. You may also own a tank, there are many people out there that collect them.

That's not what you asked. Quit changing you argument. To answer your question. I don't know, but I have seen private citizens on TV shows operate and fire a tank, so I don't know how that works.

Dude I may want to own a tank, I am not changing my argument.
Just asking can we own a tank that shoots, I need to protect myself and family:)

Apparently you can not own the ammo for a tank. Damn

UPDATE: some of you may know this already but as a new yorker I thought I'd fill those that don't in and share my quick little story

My father in law tried to order some ammunition from cabelas today and they are already not shipping ammo to NY at this time....we had the understanding that you could order on line as long as it was shipped to a FFL...also had the understanding that none of this was required for 30 days while the databases were being set up at local agencies....we have not tried other websites but it seems as if cabelas just did not want to deal with the red tape in NY....can't say I blame them but its very discouraging....along with the fact that it literally happened over night...its scary in this state right now fellas....hope we can hold on

Another thing I seen on illinoiscarry is that they rushed this thing through so fast they forgot to put in wording excluding LEO's from the 7 round magazine capacity.

Is there any truth to that? If so, I wonder what else they forgot, cross your i's and dot your t's
