This guy has been showing up over that last month or two. He has blown up a lot. Since I am still new to hunting with this being my second year I am not sure exactly how to age him or guess his score. My buddy took a guess that he was probably 2 1/2 and roughly 110 inches, but it doesn't matter to me. I hope he is around come October. I also have some pics of him pushing off another buck.
I know, but with the amount of people who hunt in the area i don't think he would make it to 4. -Andrew
That being said, if all of your neighbors think this way, you may be "that neighbor". It's just a chance you have to take in order to kill big mature whitetails. 2 1/2 this fall and somewhere around 115 inches.
^What Mckaax said^. But I know what you mean rustyreno..the way I look at it, if it's going to make you happy shooting him this year, then do it.
I agree. I didn't mean to come across in a bad way. At the end of the day it's all about what makes you happy. Most of us rarely start hunting and kill mature deer in the beginning. Good luck with him!
You didn't come across in a bad way, it's true and I never looked at it like that. Maybe i am too eager for my first buck and he is the biggest out of the bachelor group. Not gonna lie though, if I get a shot I am going to take it. -Andrew
Beautiful buck...would be a NY DANDY in a couple years! But I know exactly what you mean man! Good luck this year!!!
It sounds like you are excited about this buck and he is a nice lookin buck! I know how it is to feel pressured to take a buck young because of neighbors not wanted to hold off for a mature deer. If I was you if this buck gets your heart racing and gets you up out of your stand than by all means put him in the dirt! Hopefully he will give you a good shot on him!
