Vito, I'm curious where the fishermen weigh in on this topic. (get it...fishermen......weigh-in...) Afterall, you do realize there is a movement to limit the amount of line you can put on the spool. Did you realize there are lakes that actually limit the size of motor you can use? Next thing you know, we're going to be down to row-boats only. Your lead weights are soon to be taken away also. Some places they wont even let you have barbs on the hooks. Some streams are artificial bait only, and others wont even allow you to keep the fish! They're coming for you next! I bet we could make a ton of cash if we started the National Fishing Association and educated our membership to these injustices.

I see you just beat me to the punch....

I'm sure you won't be shocked to know that I've been told many times, if we lose our gun laws, its a gateway to lose our right to fish. Fear, fear, fear.

Like Wayne said so many times, you have to be "all in". If you are not "all in", then you are against them. There is no in between or partial support. You must buy everything they are selling, or sign your death certificate.

New York, New Hampshire, Maine, Vermont, Massachusetts, Washington and CT already have. It's not that big of a deal, I just can't believe we spent tax payer $$$ to even consider regulating something like this. I can drive around in my two stroke outboard and burn 40 gallons of fuel in a day in that lake, but they are concerned with a 3/8oz jighead on my rod, and pay people to enforce it?

I have mixed feelings regarding the NRA. I've been a paying member on and off for the last 10 years though, as I don't feel they do any harm, and do a lot of good even though I don't agree with everything they say. I don't like the fear mongering of protecting ourselves against govt, but I still believe 100% in our citizens having the right to protect themselves as we see fit and having the tools to do it. The fact that I'm not a convicted felon should be my permit to carry what I want, and when I want. I'm OK with background checks, and even a training course that covers my states penal law so that I can be educated on the consequences of me pulling the trigger in a SHTF situation..........but the 6-12 month process I'm currently going through to obtain a pistol permit is absolutely ridiculous, and I'm in one of the easiest to obtain NY counties between Albany and NYC. Once I get this permit, I still can't leave my house with it unless I'm going to a range or to hunt. Heck, I'm allowed to have an AR-15 in this state, but the second it has a flash hider that was installed after 1994 it's illegal? 30rd clips made before 94' are OK, but on made on January 1, 1995 is illegal? That's ridiculous to me.

While I doubt we will need to protect ourselves from the US government in my lifetime, I'd be willing to bet we will see times where there will be massive riots and chaos where citizens will need to protect themselves from each other. I could easily see a foreign attack or natural disaster of some sort on American soil that causes massive amounts of rioting and chaos. I could also easily see something like a presidential assassination in my lifetime that could cause massive riots. I'd never wish this on anyone, but if our current president is re-elected, would it really surprise you if someone puts a bullet in him? If something like that goes down, we are going to see riots, looting, and chaos like we have never seen before in this country. We live in a nice neighborhood, but if something like this ever happens.....I'm only about 3 miles from a really bad place to be. I'll certainly sleep better at night knowing I've got sufficient means to protect my family for at least a short period of time. I won't be the easiest target on the block.......that's for sure, and I'm not a fan of anyone that feels they know better than me about how and when I can protect my family.

LOL, well not a student of history I guess.

We'll have to agree to disagree on the subject.
