Wayne LaPierre for president! Guess I need to buy a few more "untraceable" guns just to be on the safe side.
I have always thought he is over the top with his "the sky is falling", talk. Seems he likes to create fear in gun owners to increase memberships.
The sky IS falling and has been for awhile. The NRA, like any big organization is not without it's faults, but if you don't believe gun ownership would be (even more) severely restricted in the USA without them... then you are incredibly ignorant. If you value the Second Amendment.... you should be afraid. It is under constant attack.
It was Bush that overturned the ban on handguns in national parks. Then that rule was attacked and held up via numerous legal actions from gun control zealots. Now, years later and millions of dollars spent by the NRA it has been signed into law. I'll give credit to O for signing it into law, but I don't believe for one moment that this somehow makes him a pro-gun politician. Any more than his Administration being involved in giving away guns to known criminals makes me believe they think that everyone should have a free gun.
I dont see an issue with SOME restrictions to gun ownership. Who really needs banana clips and assault rifles with armour piercing bullets? The problem I have is that the NRA screams "slippery slope" everytime legitimate gun legislation is mentioned. Would you be in favor of SOME gun restrictions if you, or your loved one was in law enforcement? What about those that have lost someone in a school shooting? Should citizens with mental defects or felony convictions be allowed access to those weapons? Somewhere there must be some common sense involved and I certainly wouldnt consider that ignorant. But to insist that status quo is the only option, certainly IS ignorant.
This state never quits....... http://www.prairiestateoutdoors.com..._register_guns_pass_illinois_house_committee/
I'm not a member of the NRA and will never be a member of the NRA as I don't believe In some of what they believe In. In saying that the NRA Is a great organization to have help fight for our rights as hunters.
I am just going to agree with Christine like Rybo. Kinda sad to see how many archers hold bad feelings toward the NRA...
