It really is a great time. We do it for the practice of shooting but we use the carp for bear bait which works great. I shot two big carp this day and missed I don't know how many ;) It's tough trying to keep your balance on the front of a boat and aim at something that's underwater but it's a really good way to fine-tune your shooting. The next trip out we just walked through the river which was much easier. I just use the Bowtech bow I hunt with and one of those reels that screws into the stabilizer mount but if I start going a lot I'm going to buy the bow PSE makes specifically for bowfishing.

I'm digging the hair in the second pic MJ:D

You planning on getting the Hammerhead or the Barracuda bowfishing bow (both made by PSE). I've shot the Barracuda and it's a sweet shooter.

Haha thanks! Every once in a while it's necessary to hunt in a mohawk and I'm not sure why but it's fun ;) My buddy had the Barracuda that I shot a few times and liked it so I would probably get that. The Hammerhead is a bit pricy for a bow that will only be used a few times a year. Maybe I'll just have to go more ;)

Doesn't it! It's a great way to pass time during the off-season and like I said that carp makes great bear bait for the fall season so ya can't beat it

Sure does make a good stink!! I use It often for bear hunting. They taste great smoked too.

My set up Is similar to Jessica's as well. A real that screws Into the riser on one of my recurve's. The tip on my arrows Is the big tip, I hate the small ones. It seems they get off easier when using the smaller one.
