Mike first off the Fox story could be taken as propaganda by the Republicans but the truth remains that Obama doesn't respect what the flag stands for or the people that died defending it. I don't know, duke,…. maybe they are. Every time I walk by a flag pole with our flag waving in the air I pause to look at it. Sometimes I feel sad when I think about what's happening to this country, but most of the time I feel pride. Sometimes I remember the pride I felt when my ship was moored in a foreign port, standing there in uniform saluting as the Star Spangled Banner played over the ships 1MC all loud and proud while our "stars and stripes" were were hoisted up during morning colors. Sometimes I remember morning colors on the base. I was one of those sailors who didn't "run for cover" to avoid saluting. I actually took pride in standing there rendering appropriate honors. I've always been very proud of this country, proud to have served and proud of that flag - the symbol of this great nation. It breaks my heart and at the same time fills me with rage to see someone desecrate it, be it by burning, walking on it or putting a man's face on it. It doesn't matter to me who made the thing. The idea that any real American would be willing to hoist that abomination up disturbs me because to me, and countless thousands of other like me, it's an insult. I can only imagine how "the greatest generation" would feel if they were alive to see what people do to our flag now.
I second this. Between our two party system and our media the country is split so wide we can't get anything done. Our government thinks we can go over to the middle east and solve all their problems and their 2000 years of fighting when they can't even stop fighting between themselves about the smallest domestic issues... It's honestly pathetic. Yes I'm against same sex marriage, legalizing marijuana, Gun control etc., but when they spend an entire year debating just one of these issues instead of how to fix our economy or pass a budget, or even fight the war is when I really have a problem with Government.

The stupid people of this country react to these stories which is what influences and wins elections. What I'd like to see is less reaction to these ridiculous stories and people starting to look into the motivation behind why this story is being shoved down our throats. If they did.. Maybe we'd eventually get somewhere in politics again. I love you dan.
