Holt, are you going to set up on a trail that leads to that field that the buck is using, or are you just going to set up on the edge and hope he feeds his way down the edge towards you?
No I'm going to let the bucks come to the field and they leave about 15 minutes before dark. They all take the same trail out the field leading to a corn field. So I'm going to hunt the down wind side of the trail, There is no way for them to get down wind of me. The only thing that can happen is they don't leave the field before dark, then I'm stuck there til they do. When I watched them last night, they seemed jumpy as they approached the field. But once in the field they could care less what was going on. So I want them relaxed and try to take him as he leaves the field. I also noticed there were to many trails leading out into the field but only one that they leave on.

Oh I am full on kid on Christmas mode right now! Haha Very little sleep this week and I lost 3 pounds because I forgot to eat breakfast and lunch a couple days this week. Stupid Deer!
Just got back from the morning hunt, and saw 3 deer. Never got close enough for a shot. Had zero service there. So going to eat lunch then head to the farm. I will be able to post some there and keep you guys updated!
Thanks Buckeye! I need to get there early to set up, but also I don't want to be sitting in the stand for 4 hours in the 90 degree sun!

Back in the stand now, not what I thought it was going to look like. I got tucked in just off the field. Hot as hell! Sweat is rolling off! I brought a change of clothes, so I hope that helps.
If you have the right wind, don't worry about the sweat. Just keep your eyes open, you gotta give him your undivided attention. He's going to come out for you during that last golden hour. Pick a spot, and shoot straight!!
I'm hoping Holt's involved with the retrieval of that buck, and that's why we haven't heard from him recently!
