Went out to blast the face off an old gobbler this morning but the weather was crap and the birds weren't playing. So I took a lil walk up the creek when all of a sudden.... BAM morel mother load
Not what I was expecting to haul home in my turkey vest but hey I ain't complaining. This is by far my best morel haul to date

One piece of advice... Try to use a knife to cut them off at the ground or at worst, pinch them off. Don't pull up the dirt. You may be killing off future mushrooms.

Ya I was tryin to pop em off but the ground was wet and loose so a few pulled up. I typically always have a knife on me but had overslept this morning and ran out the house without it.

The best part about Morels?..... No not eating them, sharing them. Last night I made the rounds to a couple of landowners who allow me to hunt or lease their property and took each a nice gal bag full. They were all tickled pink and very grateful. The one older couple said it had been years since they had any. Sometimes it's just the little things ya know. Anyhow just got done slammin that ol Tom I was after yesterday. So tonight the menu is smoked turkey and morels. Outta be to die for.
