Did you hold your 70 yard pin high or 75 low? Makes a big difference in how you proceed

    Still heart broken...
Shot the Buck of a lifetime Saturday Jan. 4th 2014 before lunch at 96 yards. Gave him time and moved to locate him. Bumped the 14 does he was with and he ran off in chase up the ridge, above mid hill but below the top. No blood, no tracks. Follow up shot at 110 yards missed by a hair and that arrow was recovered. Glassed him up from across the valley where he bedded. I knew he would be done by the time I got there. Waited, picked spots of reference, waited and moved on him. On the accent bumped a herd of ELK .. crashing and branch breaking .. got in the area. No Buck! .. looked everywhere, covered some ground, sunset. Sunday returned. Covered a ton of ground, ridges, back to the shot location, glassed, covered the next ridge and valley, circled, glassed, sunset and home.
Tuesday..back on the scene. More glassing, covered areas not looked at prior. Glassed and my garmin 62s looks like a kids coloring board. Same thing Wednesday .. all day. No Buck! Thursday hunting..no luck and chased the 19 does that my buck was with..no new bucks in the area. There were 14 original does with my buck. 19 were counted banded together Tuesday through Thursday. Season is finished for me this round and I am heart sick about this buck. I think about Rivers Divide and after looking at the post shot pics from my junky little camera can only hope that it was in the shoulder and he has made it. If only there were some birds in the air, a coyote, something to confirm. Nothing...
I think he may have made it and is bullet proof.
    Now it's personal...
    Preparing for the Fall.

Well, like I said before it was pretty dark and I couldn't see my pins through my peep but I know I made a good shot.

You moron, why did you park your truck on top of dry grass?.....you caused the fire and your truck blew up as a result. No pity from me as your life choices caused you to lose your only vehicle and the contents therein. I don't care if you are stranded and your life is turned upside down. You parked on dry grass. You deserve it moron.

    Love.

Are you retarded? You can not leave your bow unattended in your own yard.

That is terrible fletch. I've met people that think it is ok to go shoot another and then another and then another until they finally recover one. No kidding.

I posted I had just shot one in the "live from the stand" thread about ten days ago and am truly sorry I am just now updating you guys; I just got done grid searching with all my cousins and my feet are still bleeding. I think I hit the no mans zone and the neighbor said he seen him smiling, breeding does and eating his apples at his place.

You sure you didn't hit the off lung? He is bound to fill up with blood and start leaking again. You'll be able to pick the trail up soon. Just keep looking.

Happens all the time. Makes me a little crazy. If they don't drop in sight, they talk about how the deer is going to brush it off and is barely hurt.

Don't worry guys, I'm good. Just visited the doctor and he said to rest for six to eight weeks.
