alright guys...ill be the first to admit it, im new to bow hunting...i have only killed one doe with my bow, which was last year and it might of been a fluke...haha I past on a buck about 2 weeks, ago, first horns of the year, but i didnt take it. It was a small 6 pt about 1.5 yr old, but very close to pulling the trigger. Even though it would have been my first buck with a bow...i wanted to wait. Since then i have been skunked 3 times....and i feel like im getting inpatient....recent years with a gun i have had some success, but this year its kinda getting to me, because im not seeing much.... I dont no what to do ...even though the pre-rut is starting to kick in and all my friends are knocking down deer, and seeing alot of deer, i feel like im doing something wrong. I dont no guys...maybe i need to just hang in there and hold out...maybe this is a sign that something good is going to happen. I cant even get a doe in range, haha...i would be pumped to shoot a doe right now...thats how crazy its gotten... Ill keep you guys up to date...and let you know..it might be like winning the world series when i shoot a deer...haha
Hang in there we all go through "lulls" in the action. Make sure you're paying attention to the details wind direction, being scent free, movement, entry/exit routes, etc... Easy to lose focus when you start getting frustrated during the lulls in the action. Have some fun out there.
Thanks NY...i feel like im crazy about my scent..all my clothes....XP deodarant, lotion, detergent, dryer sheets, shower, spray down....check the wind.... I guess i just have to be patient..unless im just in the wrong locations..ha
Just keep hanging in there. There is one way you know your not going to see deer and that is if you don't go out at all. Every one has those years where you don't see anything, last year i only saw 2 deer a spike horn and a 2.5 year old 7 pointer and that was it
Keep your head up and keep at it. I've not even seen a buck yet this season. Seen like 15 does but no bucks. Just keep at it.
