My mother was diagnosed with a Cardiac Lymphoma back on September 9, 2009 . Many on this site offered their prayers and support. Jackflap even offered his support in assisting me with keeping contact with my mom while I was in the Gila. For that, I will ever be greatful. I am hopeful for you on your hunts this fall, you deserve it. My mother was responsible for me fishing and going to the youth conservation camp during the summers. At 13 after watching a fishing show where they went night fishing, my mom loaded wood into the truck of the car and night fishing we went, all because I asked. My mother instilled my love for the outdoors and the appreciation of the beauty from the Rocky Mountains. Nothing better than watching the sun rise and set in one of God's many great creations. My mother has fought now for 9 months now, she is tired and yet prepared. Doctors stated that the outcome is poor and tomorrow we are getting hospice to help. She has redefined courage for me as I am not sure I would have done all that she did...thanks mom for being my inspiration.
My heart goes out to you and your family! The bonds made in the outdoors are sure great ones! I tip my hat to your mom! Stand strong and it will all work out! Thoughts and prayers your way!
Rob, I'm very sorry to hear this. I think the only silver lining that can be found is that SHE is ready for what God may have for her, and regardless of how much it makes your heart hurt, he pain and suffering will soon have ended, and she'll be somewhere that pain and suffering shall NEVER exist. Stay by her side and speak your heart out to her, it will put her mind at ease. Your MOM raised at least one great person in this world, and for that, she can be very proud indeed. We'll keep you in our prayers Rob, God Bless.
I'll 2nd that Doug. Well said there bud!! I'll also give a nice shout out to Jackflap, great person he Is. My heart goes out to you Rob. All In all this Is a very nice tribute to your mom. Might not be a bad Idea to print what you said here and show her. I'm betting she'll love It more then anything.
Sad to hear this, your family will be in my thoughts. Cancer is a tough thing to deal with, my mother just beat breast cancer. Your mother sounds like an outstanding lady and you have every right in the world to be proud of her. It's rare people like her these days that make you stop and appreciate the great things in life.
Thanks to all so far for the words. I notice that you are from Idaho, my mom had made her arrangements, and will be buried next to her father in Sunset Memorial Park in Twin Falls, Idaho.
Rob, my heart goes out to you and your mother. Like was said earlier, it seems she did a great job with you. The world needs more mothers like that.
News like this is never easy to hear and my heart goes out to you and your family. Make the most out of the time you have to spend with her, prayers sent.
It's always tough to loose someone as close as your mother. It's even worse when you see them suffering for an extended period of time with little hope. God bless your family and give you peace. Hang in there man it will be rough for a while. I lost my mother very suddenly right after Easter this year. She was also my fishing partner growing up. Many memeriories there.
Rob, I've sat here looking at this thread for quite a while now, trying to come up with words that will suffice. I know what you are going through having been through it with both my parents. I know that there are no words that can ease the distress you are going through, but you can take solice knowing you have friends on here that are praying for you and yours. May the Lord comfort you during this ordeal and give you peace.
Rob, I'm very saddened to hear this news. I will keep you & your family in my thoughts during this difficult time.
Prayers sent for you and your family. Watching a loved one's health fail is a very hard thing to endure, hang in there man.
