Ok last year was my first year hunting this property. I set up 4 cams in the spring of 2012 and they haven't moved since. Last year come late June and all through July and August had millions of pictures of single does with fawns. Polka dots on every camera. Even into the season when the spots were gone and they looked like mini deer and have them group back up with more does.

It's now mid August I have yet to see a fawn in a picture. Clearly any doe walking through a camera with other does do not have a fawn? Do they leave them hidden behind? I have thousands of pictures of alone doe, or two or three does together. And none with a fawn??

Coyotes would be my first suspect but there really is not a lot. I hunted it pretty hard and killed a lot. And I almost never hear them anymore. If I didn't get doe pics if think ok maybe I pressured them out. But I have almost daily doe pictures on different cams and no fawns.

I have this same problem. I got fawns last year but none this year. I have no idea what it is.

For the first few months, a doe typically doesn't take their fawns out on highly travelled paths or to main feeding sites. They stay back and bed down. They might experiment with grazing on new foods but a doe will nurse their fawn up to 8 times a day for the first few months so there's no reason for them to be out at the main feeding sites/plots. I'm sure they're there, just not on the main travelling paths where you have your cameras.

Definitely weird. I'd say they are there just lurking just out of frame.;)
