This is December 11 and the past few days a number of us bow hunters haven't seen any bucks at all. We have them on our camera, but they are nocturnal. Is this natural or will they stay that way? Thanks! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Depends on lots of things. If there is a lot of pressure they could stay nocturnal. But colder weather could force them to move more. Hang in there. It's not over till season times out.
I have the same thing happening. Waiting it out until I get some daytime picks on the food then slide into the stand. Sent from my XT1635-01 using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
Just nocturnal pics here too. Only deer sightings have been within a few minutes of legal shooting time. Seems to happen around here every year. They will reappear in a few weeks unless it gets a lot colder or we get more snow.
Ohio just finished a week long gun season and I'm sure your deer are just as buggered up as mine are. I have some day light pics but not many and no shooters. Gun season opens up again this weekend if I'm not mistaken so that will get them all messed up again. They should get a little more predictable after the guns get put away and the weather gets cold with some snow cover. Good luck, hopefully you will get some action on some evening sits soon.
Gun sesons finally ended sunday on the wma i hunt and i seen more does today then i have in three weeks of hunting lol, we are bout to hit the last breeding stage in my area so bucks will be moving with the cooler temps, hope to get a buck before its all over.
Into the second shotgun season here now (Iowa). Bow opens again next Monday the 19th till Jan 10th. Tried some inexpensive batteries in the camera and they crapped out in less than a week. Put it back up this afternoon with an energizer so will see what happens. I use a cross bow and cannot take bucks. Haven't seen the deer moving like we used to either. Got to be the hunting pressure.
