So I had the poop shoot test last Thursday. It went fine. Woke up Friday feeling worse than worse. WEnt to the docs. They admitted me to the hospital immediately on the spot. Been there for 5 days of more damn needles, IVS,drugs, steroids, anti biotics, breathing machines etc etc. They finally turned me loose this afternoon only to continue more of the same at home. Replaced the IVs with pills and a bunch of them. Followup visits every other day this coming week starting Thursday. Missing the reunion for sure with the Cav in Vegas.
Being "Crotchetty". LOL Well it's not definite, but they're suggestiion COPD(Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disorder).... OR... It could have just been a bad round of a virial infection that bordered on Phneumonia/bronchitis/ all screwedith upith. I mean, this came from no where. One day I'm fine and the next .... well over the next 6 days I went right in the tank. On paper they put COPD. But being in the condition I'm in they can't really test the lungs exactly to say definite. I cure a little more and they'll beable to. Not a good thing that COPD. It's one of those permanent self induced ailments we bring upon ourselves. We'll see what happens. Needless to say, I haven't had a cigarette in a week. Looking forward to 8 days tomorrow. Seems like I did this routine before on a couple occasions. Once for as long as 7 years.
David, I have some suggestions, and ideas for you. First, you probably have the beginning stages of COPD, that was exacerbated by whatever virus has been going around lately (everyone I know is sick, including me and I never get sick). COPD is terrible. About 8 months ago or so I had trouble breathing. I'm only 31, but I thought it might be COPD or allergies. I was fortunate that we found out that I developed seasonal allergies. I felt so bad, though, that I quit smoking on the spot. I used the patch and something called an e-cigarette. I still use the ecigarette, and it keeps me from smoking real cigarettes. If you're strong enough to quit all-together.. that's probably the way to go. If you're like me, and enjoy smoking, and find it hard to quit... visit vapor4life.com. Get a low/non nicotine cart (8mg or less), otherwise it burns your throat, etc. Make sure to order a drip tip and a bottle of juice. I use the menthol (I never smoked menthol). I use the "cowboy menthol" because to me it tastes most like a real cigarette. The cowboy regular doesn't taste like a real cigarette to me, even though that's what I smoked. You'll want the juice to refresh the carts. Especially at the beginning you'll go through carts really fast if you don't buy the juice. You just drop a few drops inside the cylinder on the fibers. I make one cart last 5-6 days (2 bucks each), so I'm not only saving myself, I'm saving money. Just something to think about I've talked to pulmonologists at work, and they all felt that I was doing my lungs a favor by switching. There's no reversal of COPD, but you can mitigate it by quitting the cigs. Good luck to you, and I hope it was just an infection. It's a good time to quit, regardless.
Day 8 came and went. Still no cigs and no desires. Had a couple moments of wants but decided they weren't needs and pood them off. Going cold turkey and over the initial addictive stages. Now it's just habit.... that's where the tough gut comes in. "I choose NOT to have a cigarette." Still tired a bit. Had to go to the docs today because of a big bruise on my ribs. Seems like with all the the coughing I tore some tummy musscles. My right rib cage looks like Rocky beat on it in the meat cooler. I coughed for a week to the point of putting me on my knees in pain. The only thing that gave relief for days was a strict diet of cough syrup laced heavily with codine. LOL Doc says I'll be beat up for at least another month..... minimum.
I got sick in march for two weeks. After that, I never picked up another cig. I got sick again in June and after that had trouble breathing. The VA diagnosed it as COPD without even seeing me. I am slowly but surely getting stronger and able to exercise more each day. Keep it up, in the end it's all worth it.
