Had a 2 week soak on my 30 acre property in Iowa County. The big eight I have hunted the last three years is back but I think he is a big as he is going to get. I started hunting him in 2011 and last year to this year there was not a big jump. He is at the top of the list though. Lots of close calls with him.

This guy showed up too. He is a stud an I hope I get a few better pics of him. I repositioned my Covert MPE5 so hopefully the adjustment pays off. Look at the brows on him!

And a few others guys with potential...

Thank you Scoot for the help with hanging a few stands, it made the work go by a little easier. Oh and thanks for letting me catch 41 more smallmouth this afternoon than you too ;)

Awesome turn out especially for 30 acres! how many of those bucks qualify for a 450 grain present this fall?

For sure the eight and the big brow buck in the second group of pics. The others hopefully will sneak by another year.

I like the mass on the big 8, I have a pic form June 4 of a buck that I think is gonna turn out nice due to his mass and a kicker growing at the base already but i only have him as a giant fork so far... We got a pic of a 130-145 10 and He has got way more mass at his base's than the 10

The key to this property is that the field to the north is planted in corn. Last year it was set aside and I had maybe 3 bucks using the property. In 2012 I had 16 different bucks on cams with 3 being 4 year old plus deer in between 140 and 160. This year....we have corn!!

Well you better capitalize this year! I'm expecting nothing shy of 175 from you!

JK but seriously, nice work. How is the hunting pressure around you?

There are two bowhunters to the north that hunt smart. There are a few gun hunters as well but this area has a few houses around it so the immediate area doesn't get hit too hard.

Getting pictures in the day makes it so worth it!

That big guy is a dandy. I hope my little chunk produces things like that!
