Northern Michigan BBD

This 10pt first showed up on my trail cam on July 15th. He would only show up about once every two weeks and only at night. Finally got a day time trail pic of him Sept 20th. 10 days before the opening day of bow season Oct 1. Moved my treestand to where he showed up during the day and hoped for the best. I couldn't hunt the opener due to school so I went out the next morning and only saw 3 does. Pulled my card out of the trail cam and the big ten was at my treestand at 7 o'clock when I was sitting in school! Since he wasn't showing up in the same spot twice I almost chose to sit in a different stand. Good thing I didn't! at 5 o'clock he stepped out and I put a Grim Reaper right through his heart. He only went 40 yards where he piled it up in a little group of trees. My biggest buck yet!

 

Very nice deer! Sometimes it pays to stay in school! That's the way to get it done.

Congrats! What county do you hunt up there? I hunt in Clare and Osceola county. Then Eaton,Ingham and barry farther south.

Oh wow so your way up there. Far northeast side of the lower penninsula i believe?? Beautiful country up there! Every once in awhile i hunt on some guys property thats right next to fletchers pond if you know where that is. Good luck the rest of the season!
