I prematurely asked about the status of deer movement in Kentucky a couple weeks ago. Headed to Kentucky (just outside of Louisville) to do some hunting. Can anybody tell me what stage the rut is in as of now? Thanks for any info.

    Over.... Downhill slide.

The week before the modern gun opener was red hot!!! Bucks on their feet all hours of the day... That was two weeks ago. Hunted Sat & sun... Saw 5 does one day, 7 the next, none had a suitor in tow. Might see a slight increase in the chase in a week or so when the ones not bred come back in.

    I say target food.
