I am a new shooter from a Deerfield IL. Haven't shot in 28 years. I am looking to get back into the sport. Can you guys recommend a good local bow shop that can help me choose a bow and get it setup and tuned. Have heard and read reviews of a few in the area and I am getting mixed information on the staff being helpful or just being jerks. Thanks!
Not sure if you found a bow shop but I will gladly tell you who i use. It is in Indiana but not a bad drive from Chicago area (right of US 41). It is Riverside Archery shop located Sumava Resorts IN. George is a great guy to help get you set up and tuned right.
I am not from up that way but was at the Naval School Command years ago. There is the Bass Pro at Gurnee Mills Mall right there in Waukegan. They seemed to have a better bow selection than a lot of other Bass Pro Shops I have been in. Of course, this was in late 2001. early 2002. I don't know how things have changed since then.
The Bass Pro shop in Gurnee is still there, and it's a good place for entry-level bows, and releases, and targets and all the gear you'll need. And you'll be shocked at how light and short compound bows have gotten in general. Sent from my RCT6303W87DK using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
