    Huh? Was there someone else from Tennessee posting? I know you can't be referring to me, 'cause you'd be so far off the mark it'd be pitiful. You don't EVEN want to hear my opinion on the civil war - especially if you're from the south.

    This thread is cracking me up. My only beef with the south is you guys need to learn what an Elk looks like before invading Colorado and shooting peoples mules, cattle, horses (at least let us take our saddle off before you go to skinning it) mainly the Texans lol.

    Food= hands down south
    Football= South

    OPA, good point!! But i started this thread for a little fun before the season starts. We all know the real answer is that deer in the upper midwest are far bigger and tougher to hunt!!!!!

    The basis of deer body sizes and deference between North and South is who is closer to the equator. For example here in the US Virgin Islands the Danish brought whitetail deer for their own personal hunting in the 1700. Now the deer has drastically dwarf in sizes from the original size as well as their antlers for some of you looking at a yearling buck and the antlers that they display for us here is a mature buck and they strictly nocturnal.

    The Caribbean vegetation is not very nutritious and there is no pressure of predation by other wildlife here, but would you believe that deer have been seen swimming in Open Ocean from island to island we are approximately 40 miles southeast from St. Thomas and we have seen deer swimming in the channel it is unbelievable.

    Iowa is awesome. Everyone knows that. I have no big mount pics to prove this, however you need to blame the hunter. Not the State! Truthfully, I'd hunt anywhere, anytime. God Bless America!
