We have a lot of questions on this board about Hogs in NC. Despite owning and guiding Hog hunts in NC, I honestly never share photos due to a few reasons.
    1) I forget
    2) They almost always come out at night and the pics are terrible
    3) I don't want to be banned due to perception of spamming or advertising.
We get lots of call from Northerners inquiring about Hogs in NC, but many think they have to drive further South to Georgia or Florida for Hogs. We have plenty

Well since its the off season I thought I would share these photos. This past week I set up a new cam and feeder. For some reason this old cam has the dates and temp wrong, but the time appears to be correct. Its an older Moultrie. Nevertheless, in daylight it still takes decent pics. It's about worthless during the night pics. Any way, this really shows the size of what we are typically seeing. It's interesting how some look almost domestic and other exibit the razor back hair and tusks of boar. I just thought you would enjoy seeing the variety. Maybe it would also dispell some doubts of people who visit this site about the viability and availability of hogs infiltrating NC. I can tell you they are not all that fun and really have done a number on the turkeys around us. They eat and trample the eggs. The deer are holding there own for now.

Thanks, we try all manners of game cameras. This is for a new location, so these moultries came back out from the back of the cabinet. With nearly 10000 acres, we try all manner of game cameras. Honestly, they all have their issues. I guess Reconix may work, but too expensive. This operation is not my day job. There are many different generations of what I think are simply hybrid hogs. Over the years they have interbreed with Boar from Russia(western NC had boar released for gentrified men at the biltmore estate and western counties), Spanish Pigs from colonial times and domestic pigs from area farms but most recently, the thousands that escaped and survived Hurrican Floyd in 1999 or so. I don't think the wild ones are anything but Mutts at this point.

Decent size on some of them, the one in the top pic looks like a nice one.

Those are some nasty looking a hogs. Nice off season target practice.

Where in NC are you. My Dads got a home in Brevard but I'm one of those that never knew NC had wild hogs. Very cool.
