I own a Bowtech RPM360 and I love this bow. Easy to shoot, fast and quite but dead on every shot. I have just got back into archery in Nov last year after a 20 year break after moving from New Zealand to Australia. I grew up with guns till my uncle gave me a go of his bow, then for the next 8 years before moving to Aus I shot every thing from sharks to deer and all the small stuff in between. So I'm not new to bowhunting, but bows where nothing like this back then. Now back to my problem, while practicing. A arrow nock broke, bow sounded like a .22 rifle, arrow still hit target about 30 m away but hit low. Looked over bow didn't notice any thing out of place. I retrived my arrow (photos below) to find the nock broken. Next arrow the bottow right limb cracked. After fully looking over bow have noticed that both cams have slight twist at ends. Now about a couple of weeks ago I cranked up the poundage from 60 to 72 and brought a dozen new arrows which are in the photos above. Entered my club ABA shoot and during the round had a arrow lose the nock and the blue ring it goes in when shooting one of the rounds. Arrow shot maybe 8 times. So is this some thing that happens often with these new bows or arrow type wrong for the poundage. Would like some input from you guys. Shop says bow is covered by warranty so lets hope. Also forgot to say, Had the string and cables replaced and the cams had a lot more lean on them, than before. But it still shot great.
I would take it to your local pro shop and have them look everything over real good before you even think of firing it again as the .22 noise sounds like a dry fire.. which is very bad for a bow. A modern compound breaking at full draw could do some very serious damage to you with all the force built up. The arrows may be too light, but I'm not sure. Again, your pro shop would be the best to talk to on that. My buddy uses those exact same arrows, but his draw weight is a good bit lighter than you are shooting with.
I'm sorry to sound like a jerk, but did you even read his post? He said he took it to the shop and it they said it should be covered. I do agree the .22 sounds is indicative of a dry fire. Even though it fired the arrow down range that is never a good sound to hear.
Any idea you know the weight of your arrow? There is a chance that your arrow is too light for your setup as well. Just something to check to be sure.
I'm guessing the nock on the arrow was already cracked or something, and when he fired it the limb cracked as it happened. Arrows look to be correct..
you semi dry fired your bow the string would have broke past the side of an already damaged knock and shot to the side of the arrow that's why the 22 cal noise and why you shot low at 30 meters ( not as bad as a proper dry fire) but if your limb cracked i would not shoot it . if fixed go back to the shop and get them to twist some cables to get the lean out of your cams and tune it ,my guess your nocks might be coming off because the strings on most fast bows now have a thicker string ,my carbon spyder turbo are real thick but my knocks don't come off, see how tight your knocks clip on, might need to change them .
Bow now at shop where I brought it from. Haven't herd from them so I guess Bowtech hasn't said no or hasn't replied back yet.
Hope it gets fixed! You should have never shot another arrow after that first one broke on you. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Bow fixed Got bow back from bow shop last Thursday, fixed with new limbs top and bottom and new cams top and bottom. Just under two weeks. Had our 2015 BRANCH ABA TITLES held at Grange Bowmen, my local bow club in Brisbane Australia over the weekend, which I came 3rd in the Mens Bowhunter Unlimited B. Very happy to have my bow back. Big thanks to Bowtech and Apex hunting for the quick repair of my bow.
