Hey guys, I get to pick our (family) next vacation. I decided I want to catch a fish by hand. Looking for noodling advise. I don't care what state it's in. A reliable outfitter would be appreciated. Stories about doing are also encouraged.

Wait you want to reach into a river bank? Snapping turtles would be a concern for me.

Never had the desire, boss. Seen too many things on and in the river that squash the desire to take a deep breath and stick my hand in a hole where something might live in hopes that it latches on. Also good relationship advice that nobody asked for. Good luck!

I lived in Florida just south of Orlando. We would go to the swamp next door to fish. While fishing a hole off main swamp a crane landed on opposite side. It happened so fast I jumped back falling on my backside. A snapping turtle biggest dang thing I'd ever seen, head grabbed the cranes leg as it stood next to the water and dragged it in. There wasn't even much of a thrashing before it went under the water. It was a full grown crane. That snapping turtles head was huge. Never went fishing alone after that.

    Your crazy man! Haha

Never done it myself. Seems like it's more of a South thing. That girl, Hanna Barron that VS posted has a ton of videos on it and will give you a good idea of what's it's all about.

I've caught a few really large cats in my day while fishing and the bigger ones do really have a good bite.

This was in my yard just now, I just couldn't imagine sticking my hand in a blind hole and hit one of these! 20230613_075925.jpg

I called DNR and let them know you are disturbing a rare and endangered turtle nest with your illegal foundation dig...

No alligators or cottonmouths in Kansas, not sure about snapping turtles. That might be the place to do it.
