I was curious how many of us have killed a non-typical buck in their woods? I got a trail cam pic of this small one, and ended up taking him! He's the only one I've ever seen in the woods I hunt. Post a pic if you have one.

I killed this one in 2004 I believe. I got set-up early one morning in a spot I never hunted. I looked at a map the night before and set up where I thought a buck would move. Five minutes after sun-up I see this buck running like heck across a flat going to high ground to bed. I could not get a shot on him. I was using a muzzleloader at the time. I waited to see if he would come back down and scent check but he stayed put and did not show himself. The wind changed around 1pm so I decided to move my stand about 200 yards. About 30 minutes before sundown I see him come right down where I thought he would if he decided to move. I shot him at about 55 yards through the heart, nearly 10.5 hours after I first saw him.

The camera I used to take this pic was only able to do black/white years ago.

My 2 biggest bucks are NT, & I also have a droptine.

I see small NT's maybe every couple years or so. Usually its nothing too crazy though.

I have killed quite a few funky rack deer, but nothing I consider a true NT.

I shot one that had a funky rack because he'd broken his skull plate and it healed all twisted up. I don't have a picture handy, but it was a messed up looking buck.

I get a couple on trail cam every year.

I got one on Trail cam last year. I had him at twenty yards a couple different hunts but passed on him (plus he didn't meet the county's antler requirements). Hopefully he'll put on some serious bone!
