Thought that I would post on here. I shot my buck using one of these nocks and shut it off immediately after finding the arrow. A few hours later I got in the truck after caping out the deer and it was back on. Shut it off again and went home and cleaned it off the best I could. Well it turned back on amd nowbis completely dead and worthless. I callled their customer service and she said it happens and I should have soaked it in rubbing alcohol. It didn't say that anywhere on the package. Are these 1 time use kind of things because for the price they shouldn't be? Not happy at all.

That sucks! I have shot numerous deer with the same one & I shoot it sometimes when I practice (kids like when I shoot them @ dusk) & it's still working. As a matter of fact I have it knocked right now as I sit in my stand.

I thought i read it has 9 hours of light up time before it goes dead. Might be a different brand tho. Last year i stuck one in the top of a tree at dusk trying for a turkey and it was lit up still in the morning on the way out. I have had no issues with them.

Did it happen on just the one nock or is it happening on all of them you turn on? That one nock maybe faulty. They last about 90 hours total. I tested one out and it was just about that amount of time. Just like anything you buy, every now and then you will get a faulty one. I have never had the problem you are having.

I had this same problem. I bought a three pack and one of them was really hard to turn off for some reason. I basically jammed a knife blade in the slot where you turn it off and pushed as hard as I could. It kind of gouged the plastic, but I haven't had any more problems with it since then.

I've found the best way to turn then off is to use a lumenock. ;-)

I spined a deer a couple seasons back and when the buck hit the ground, the nockturnal turned off and never worked again. Don't forget to put a dab of wax in the spot you turn the nockturnal off....keeps the blood out. Other than that, no other issues. I love em!

I shot a green one into my target 1 week ago, and the thing would not turn off. I sent Nocturnal an email and told them i shot the thing one time and I could not turn it off. They sent me an email back four days later telling me to send the bad one with a note stating what happened and they would swap them out.

+1 on putting a small dab of wax on the hole to keep the blood out. I've used the same one on a deer last year and this year still working like new, I love'em!! I just use a tiny bead of bow string wax

I've had horrible issues with two other brands (Luminocks & Tracers), then switched to Nockturnal. Was so impressed, I bought another 3 pack the following week. This was 3 years ago and I'm still using those same 6 nocks, for both target and hunting. Never had a problem. Love 'em!!

Hmm. I hope I don't have that problem. But if I do I'm glad I got the 3 dollar insurance coverage at gander that will replace them no matter what. :tu:

I've never used any of the lighted nocks. I guess I'm just to cheap... $10 each is pretty stiff. I'll probably get some one day. With those you are pushing $30 per arrow on avg... far cry from the old days. LOL
