I lean to the Fire Nock side They have hit insert so the battery will not fly out on impact they have 3 styles one a target nock goes out after 15 seconds a hunting nock that stays on till you drop it our thump it like the string turns it on they are very bright battery are replaceable.. and one that blinks like tracer nock fire nocks are high but work every time.. But for simple and works good and for 9.99 Nockturnal is the way to start!!
I was at Wal-mart the other night and they have their hunting isle on clearance. They have 2 packs of RealTree lighted nocks for 10 or 12 bucks. They only stay lite for 8 hours and come in red but I'm going to pick up a pack when they cut the price even more just to see how they perform. I'll write up a review this Spring and let you know how they turned out. Anyone have any experiences with these? My expectations are low but maybe I'll be surprised.
I use the Easton Tracer nocks. They are super bright. when i shot my buck this year i saw exactly where i hit it. It is like a giant laser beam shooting through the air haha
A big yes on using them...I have Nockturnals on the back of my ACC's and I love them. Found three packs on ebay for just a hair over 20 bucks shipped.
On the Nocturnals, shot deer with them twice this year. Saw the arrow go through the pump house but didn't see it on the ground. Assumed both times the arrow was stuck in the chest and I couldn't the nock. It actually passed through, hit the ground and shut off. Not sure if this is a defect or just how hard the bow hits. After the shot the arrows were buried about 2-3 inches deep in the ground, but a bit of a downer that I had that nag wondering about the hit.
