    New to archery in general.
Quest Primal @ 63 lbs, 29" draw, factory string.
Carbon Express, Maxima 350 arrows, nocks that came with them.

My nocks attach to the string with an audible "click".
    Is this normal?
Seems like that resistance would slow the arrows speed and make noise on arrow disconnect from string on release.

    Thanks
    JD

I have 4 different types of Carbon Express arrows that do the same thing, I always wondered. A buddy of mine will sand down the inside of the nock so they will just barely hold on the string, but I heard that was not a good idea?

The click is good. You want a click. If it doesn't click, replace the nock.

If the nocks are too loose they can fall off of your string and basically can lead to dry fire, like said before the click is good.

As long as they are not too tight after actually attached to the string. They should be a little loose once on but should click going on.

To stop the click just hold your finger against the back of the Nock with a little pressure while installing onto the string.

NEVER sand or file a Nock down. A little inconsistency here causes big inconsistencies down rang. This is one if not the most important part of an arrow. This is where accuracy starts. Alignment and release is crucial.

If a Nock doesn't fit you can either get new nocks / arrows or reserve the string with smaller/ larger serving to get the correct fit.

my arrows click and i also shoot carbon express heart attack. actually on my string, where the nock clicks on to the string, the string is becoming worn flat on both sides. not to a point where its fraying. its still perfectly fine but like on each side of the string where the nock connects there are flat sides on the string like its almost pinched together looking. but the arrow stays on there fine to the point where its hard to pull it off without shooting it so im not worried about it.

This is normal and why you should always push your arrow on the string straight back from the rest. Not from the side.

Thanks for the info. Accuracy is good so I will not mess with it.

I was just pointing out the importance of putting an arrow on the string straight back. It was a general statement, not necessarily directed toward you.
