Hey guys! My son and I are still hunting. We haven't killed anything yet but I'm trying hard to get him his first bow kill. He could have killed a doe yesterday afternoon and this afternoon but he's sitting on great buck sign and to his credit he didn't take them. This morning at about 10:30 I had a hell of a shooter 10 point walk by me at 50 yards. The width of the rack was very similar to the buck I killed but the tines were about half again as tall. Probably a 145-ish buck. I wouldn't have taken a 50 yard shot but it didn't matter. I can't shoot a buck right now anyway. Can't believe I didn't raise the bow and turn on the Tactacam. This evening at dark we were both pinned in our trees by does feeding under us. My son texted me and said he was pinned. I texted back and said "Me too". My son's solution was to reach into his pack, grab a handful of fun-size candy bars and throw them at the deer. To me that's hilarious because two years ago my son-in-law found himself in the same situation and he threw cough drops. Anyway, my son got down, walked up the road to me, ran another deer under my tree and spooked the does by me off. We will adjust and see what we can do. I can't give the team any more points but I can still kill deer.
