so i just finished fletching my new dozen rampage arrows and i noticed that when i nock my arrow on my bow it its a pretty snug fit is this something to worry about or replace due to it effecting accuracy and or speed ? anyone have any insight on this? my deep impacts were just right they clicked on and came right off with a gentle nudge these however are a little more snug then even the VAPs i was shooting, and i thought those were snug.

I had a similar problem this year inside twenty yards they hit with my other nocks but at forty years they were 14 low. Using that much more engery to get off the string can't be great for the bow. Nock fit was something i had not really considered before but like anything in archery the little details matter

I went back to my original nocks that fit my serving. I could have tried smaller serving but it was easier to go back to double lock nocks I used before those lighted nocks

It's actually a pretty common technique to adjust nock to serving fit.

Why is that not a good idea? Been doing it as needed for years.

Well, another trick is to sip them in boiling water for a few seconds and nock the arrow. It should open it just enough to make it an easier for but not too much to loose the hold. No idea what it does/doesn't do to the integrity of the nock though.

The nock is the only thing that touches your string and launches your arrow. Why would you sand or file it and change this shape? I would think once you sand the nock, it will never be 90* to the string again.

Firenock's post give two fixes, correct nock or replace serving. Any other method will work but do you want to risk ruining a bow or spend less than a dollar to replace your serving and resolve the problem or spend a little bit more and replace your nocks.

Dorge is a salesman. He will tell you there is a problem with everything except for the stuff he makes. I've used sandpaper for years it's never caused me issue nor have I even heard that it's an issue with regular nocks.

Don't drink too much kool aid, or you will be buying $100 broadheads while your neighbor kills a deer with a sharpened spoon duct taped to a bent 2117.

I'll stand behind the two fixes , I've done both. I'm not selling anything but common sense.

Nock fit is important! I'm more concerned with a loose Nock then a snug nock. If they are all the same , then they will all shoot equally the same. This is not rocket science guys :p I like the boiling water to refit the nocks to your liking which should be accuracy right ? Or change them to a size you prefer
