I'd say they probably are. Headed out after work tomorrow, high around 75 and light showers. Should be a good day to hunt.
where i live its all beans and cornfields. i have to disagree with our teammates in my experience in illinois they will eat them all fall and winter after they are cut. obviously there is a lot less for them so they move through the field more often. but nothing beats acorns. this is just my opinion. goodluck!
I would hunt acorns over beans. I like beans when they're green and late season. My personal favorite food plots are corn and Buck Forage Oats. I'll be in stand on Monday evening. Can't wait!
I've been falling behind on everything trying to get ready for the elk hunt. I'm going to throw a camera up this weekend and finally get some oats planted. I wanted to do that a month ago....time got away from me.
Wow.. can't believe it's hear...OPENING DAY tomorrow! I'll be on stand all weekend -hope I'll have some stories to tell. Good luck everyone who will be joining me in the great outdoors!
Congrats on the doe and getting it done so fast Ruger. Im hoping to get out to some WI public land next weekend for a doe if I can get off of work. Good luck out there everyone.
Well I was supposed to be hunting the opener in NJ today but my sons leave was cancled. So we didn't go. First time in years that we haven't been there for the opener. So I probably won't be hunting till October 4 here in VT. Then we r going to NJ for the rut Nov1 as the VT season is closed. Good luck to everyone who's getting an early start.
Set up this morning on the edge of a corridor the deer use when coming off the food and headed back to bedding. Couple deer come from behind me at first shooting light... Keep em coming!
