Awesome buck Art! You better kill him this year before he pass's from old age. I've been slacking on my cam's works been nut's. I set 2 out a couple weeks ago at one spot in ny but prob. wont check em til I hunt it the farmer planted corn over the only path to get back to the woods. It was hell just to get back there. I usually have a bunch out at my leases in Ohio but I haven't had time to get there to set em. But a friend has a few pic's of a buck we have been hunting three years now and he is pushin 190"

My opener is September 13 in NJ. Traditionally I put 2-3 does in the freezer the first 4-5 days of the season. We could shoot more where we hunt in NJ, but processing them gets old quick. Last year I shot two in four days and passed on many more. My son shot 5, of which three he took in about 5 minutes on opening day and captured it on film.

Just got my new 'Hunting Beast' camera arm in today -this thing is the cats a**!
How many of you film your hunts? and if so what kind of camera do you use?
I use a 'Canon XA10' and a 'gopro' for my second angle.

Yes I also film. Using a sony XR160 now but looking to upgrade soon possibly before this season gets rolling. As for arms I have a 3rd arm love it but not the steadiest.

I use a Canon HF-G20 as my main camera, a GoPro Hero 3+ Black as my hunter cam mounted on the tree directly above my head, and a SpyPoint Xcel as my bow cam. Thinking about getting another GoPro Black for my bow cam too because I can use one remote to turn them on simultaneously. My SpyPoint Xcel may be for sale if anyone is interested.

I use a Muddy Outfitter for my camera arm. Thinking about upgrading.

I think I'm going 4K next year as well. This is what I have in mind....

Thanks for sharing your camera setup DD/MO, it's cool to see what others are using.
And if you end up getting that 4k sony... that'd be sick!! My only concern with that is I figure 4k technology is 5 years from being mainstream and/or in every household.

Your canon HF-G20 looks pretty similar to my canon. I personally love my camera -it offers everything a 10k dollar camera offers (minus the zooming capabilities) for under 2k.

I'm going 4k because I self-video most of the time. With the 4k you can stay wide and not worry about missing the shot by zooming too close and the deer walking out of the frame. The 4k is 4 times the definition of standard HD so you can zoom in with your editing software by 400% and still have full 1080p HD. I just need to save some cash to get one without my wife divorcing me!

Here's a pic of my current main cam setup minus the Lone Wolf camera arm I no longer use...

^^ That's sweet. It'd be awesome to have that zooming capability!
Before this season we used the Lone Wolf camera arm too -it was ok but it always seemed to loosen up throughout the hunt plus the pan head was a little chincy, can't wait to try my hunting beast camera arm.
    Did I mention I can't wait for season. :)

I just checked out the 'GoPro Hero 3+ Black' and that thing is awesome -to have the remote would be a game changer for me.
    ...next year! :)
