Sweet congrats RRB! Damn my bow season is pretty much over. No horn on the ground. If I get out of work early this week I'll try to get a evening hunt in. Gun season starts Sat. I hate gun season!

Great buck ruger. I was all packed up to go to the house when you posted that pick. I'm still in the woods :) . I've been here since 5am. I'm cold, wind burned and bored as heck, but I'm staying until dark.

After hours of searching, no luck on the recovery. I'm bummed to say the least. First deer I'm sure I killed but couldn't recover. Hope he fools me and shows up again. Pretty sure he bleed way to much to survive. :(

Yeah I found the arrow, he carried it with him about thirty yards and it was literally stabbed straight into the ground.

Have you considered getting a dog on the trail (assuming it's legal where he was shot)?

Well I was looking to get on stand one more time here in Michigan before gun season opens this Saturday but after receiving 41 inches of snow in the past 48 hours I'm afraid there are no more deer around... good luck catching up to those shooters fellas. !

The first MO bow season has come to a close. I wasn't able to put ole Gimp on the ground. I had that one encounter with him one evening and I've got one other daylight pic of him. Hoping he stays nocturnal during firearms season or I can get my wife or one of my boys on him. After gun season, I'll be slaying some does and hopefully I can still catch up to a buck.

What's the word Team 17.? How is everybody doing.?
I imagine most of you (like me) are in the middle of your states gun seasons... and if you're anything like me I sit back, rest, and recoup while they run amuck.

Our gun season doesn't start till after thanksgiving, but I'm sitting back and relaxing anyway. I've got 5 does and a buck down and will focus on hunting with the kids during firearms. I will try and check in here regularly but my bow season is about done with the exception of a few late season sits behind the house.

yep. im in relax mode here in Missouri. I shut er down during rifle season, which goes another week. so far, only two shooter bucks have gone down to rifles. my brother got a 130class 8, and my father-in-law got a 140 class 8. both nice bucks, but not the true monsters. the big ten and twelve are out there somewhere.....

hopefully ill put some points on the board for us once season opens back up. I feel bad. im one of the few who hasn't contributed yet!

Bow season is over here in vt until the first weekend in December. It's gun season here. So I'm out with my gun sitting in a stand this morning. Like just getting out. 20 deg light snow, about an inch of hard crunchy noisy snow on the ground. Back to the bow first week of December here in VT , then back to NJ for the last three days of December and the first three days of January. The family did real well in NJ in November, we took 2 buck and 5 doe with the bow. Freezer is looking good and some horns to boot. Hunting VT is pretty harsh. Very few deer and very big woods! Big hills and very little food source. No feeding permitted.
