Saw 10 bucks today... 3 this morning 7 tonight, unfortunately no shooters. Bucks definitely seem to be bumping the does, I feel like we're in the cusp of things breaking loose. If I don't connect tomorrow I'll be back out wednesday. Good luck ya'll.
Had a doe under me this evening that still had her fawns with her. Things are about to blow up but I think my week off starting the 7th is gonna be timed just right.
Well.. it's not the 125+ points I would have got if I was able to shoot the 8 pointer I had at 25 yards this morning but I'll take the 50 for now. Doe DOWN and meet in the freezer.
congrats, doublelung!! that's awesome!!! my hunt was a fun one this morning...but unproductive. I sat in the stand I was in when I missed the big ten on Tuesday. bucks have tore the whole area up. there are around ten to twelve good sized rubs, and probably 20 scrapes, plus the three mocks ive made there. here are a few pics of a couple bucks hittin a mock about 50 yards up the trail from my stand..... the twelve is Maximus. I see he has partially broken off his G4 on the left side. still a great buck tho..... the 2nd deer is his brother, the un-named 10...or I guess Maximus' brother! haha!
Congrats DL! I rolled into Ohio yest. Around 1pm windy and rainy so I decided not to hunt and to go hang a new set. Sat it this morn and was covered in deer 10 doe/fawns a two yr old and a year old buck also had a buck chasing a doe about 80 yards I couldn't get a look at em. Back in the same stand tonight. I saw several deer this weekend. Passed up a young buck yesterday afternoon and does yesterday morning and this evening. I'm waiting for a decent buck or bust.
Congrats on the buck! I was VERY close to filling my buck tag this morning. My wife has been seeing a "huge" buck (her words, and she's a new hunter) by one of my stands the past couple of mornings while we were hunting. Finally got the right wind, and he came by me at first light. I had him working a scrape at 28 yards, broadside. I just couldn't decide to shoot or not (had to be at work at 8am) so I let him walk. May end up regretting it. This is the 3rd day in a row he came by that stand. As I was getting down, I walked over to the camera near by and saw I had a pic of him. Having trouble uploading..grrr
That's a cell pic of the display on my digital camera...I'm pretty high tech lol. Anyway, I can tell he has decent beam length and bases, I just couldn't decide so I didn't shoot.

Congrats DL and VW. I really screwed up this morn on a buck of a lifetime. 20 yards broadside my shot hit a limb and the arrow skimmed the top of his neck. I'm not sure if my shot would of found vitals I was rattled and rushed the shot maybe the branch did me a favor I would really be sick if I crippled him. We have his sheds from the past two years last year he grossed 186 and the year before 175. Trying to stay positive! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
that sucks Mark. now atleast im not the only one who has missed a giant this year. I feel your pain. now we just gotta get back out there and nail em the next time!!! and way to go fellas!! we are gonna be climbing up the leaderboards now!! hope I contribute to the cause in the next few weeks!!
4 more days of work, then 9 days straight in the woods! 7 of those with the bow and the last two with the kids for youth weekend. If I can put a buck down and get both boys to shoot one with the shotgun I will be a happy man.
