Thanks I'm pumped I pick it up little later this week getting new string tuned and new draw length put on
Basically what Kirby said. There are a few spots on the farm that deer use every year to make scrapes but closer to the end of October they show up every where. Basically at the corner of any field that has decent amount of woods around it there will be a scrape somewhere. Look for any branch about head to chest high and inspect it. Itll most likely be broken and missing leaves maybe even stripped bark from nibbling and raking it. Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk
I hunt 4 main pieces of property. The first is a 480 acre farm in Watertown Wi another is the favorite is a 650 acre piece near blair Wi and a 395 acre chunk near taylor both out in bluff country chasing them big ridge runners. Also have an 80 acre chunk to hunt in dodge county and a 43 acre chunk to hun in waukesha co. counties I hunt are Jefferson, dodge, waukesha and Trempealeau Wi. Really pumped to have all this property to my disposal! all the food plots are coming in real good all the trail cameras have been soaking sense mid july so the pics should be racking up. Also gonna be my 2nd season of hard core filming. Going to hang the last couple stands tomorrow morning! pumped for it all to begin soon!
This guy is probably the most visible deer I've ever encountered. He literally comes out in one spot on one half of the farm EVERY day. Sometimes multiple. I know its early and shouldn't be all giddy because who knows what'll happen when he sheds velvet, but man he is gorgeous Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk
Hunt hard my friend you will get it done if you can find the trail he is taking set up about 50 yards up it from this camera catch him in light
No kidding. Im just ready to get after it! I'm ready to see one of em come strolling by while I'm in a tree, bow in hand Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk
Sounds like you should be busy. Definitely enough to give you some variety. I'm on a 130 acre farm. About half of that or a little less is good hunting woods. The other half is cow pastures and clover fields for hay. There's another 100 or so acres next to us, 40 acres is soybeans and the other half is woods and I am the only one with permission to hunt any of it. Then across the road from the soybeans is about 20 acres of corn butting up against 150ish acres that I can hunt if no one else is out there. This is my first year bowhunting and nobody else's is hunting bow season so I should have all that to myself until firearms opens in November.
That's a heck of a good looking deer. He's gonna be fun to hunt. Even once the velvet is off I think he's still gonna be nice. Good luck with him. I'm getting real antsy to get out int the woods.
So far I like it. It's a long story but I'm a muzzleloader guy at heart. I was ready to quit hunting when I moved from WY To MN them got hooked on muzzleloaders. I don't have the time to focus on both so this year I put my muzzleloaders aside and have only focused on archery. I'm starting to miss my muzzleloaders but knowing that a bow will get me out in the woods 2 1/2 months earlier helps.
I hunt in central WI on some private land with a good buddy. When I cant get up north, I hunt some public land in SE WI.
My grandpa got me into guns and that's pretty much all I used hunting. I had a bow but stuck to the backyard with it. My stepdad however only bowhunted and when he married my mom in 2000 I went with him a couple of times and fell in love and it was all I wanted to do. Shooting my first deer ever in 2003 was all I needed. Been chasing that feeling ever since. I still do take a shotgun out during gun season and enjoy it but I would much rather kill them with a bow! Growing up in away, hunting was done with a 7mm and involved walking miles a day. I had no clue people even used a shotgun for deer. So when I moved here and was told to hunt I had to sit in a tree with a shotgun I thought it was a joke. After about two hours sitting In a stand with one I was ready to quit hunting. My father in law told me to try shooting his muzzleloader before I gave up. One shot and as the cloud of sulphury smoke enveloped me I knew I was hooked. Been obsessed with muzzleloaders and hunting ever since.
I vote for this one. I can read it easier. when it is compressed into a small avatar it is easier to read.
