Yes.. we do need more educated voters. That's clear. One of my favorite GOP facts (and I'm a conservative) is that 73% of white voters with only a high school diploma or GED vote GOP. That says alot about the followers of that party.

Under Romeny's new plan.. we're expected to increase 7.9 trillion (on defense) over the next decade.

    http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs...-on-defense-and-much-less-on-everything-else/

Social welfare is just pennies compared to that.

C'mon people... give me something worth discussing.

    No.. cause I hate Obama.

I just hate more that my once grand party is shoving an idiot like Romney down my throat... allienating millions of typical conservative voters.

    Awesome job GOP.. awesome.

All you had to do was give us someone decent to vote for.. thus ridding the current incumbent. You gave us nothing. Nothing!

    It's too controversial.. that's why.

It's a loosing battle for either party to talk about.

You'll offend some generation and likely not get elected.. so our awesome politicians steer away from it.

Plus.. its kinda served as a "piggie bank" for certain wars over the years.. and that's party suicide if its brought up.

So.. SS lives on... no one being the wiser.

The boarder, China how about Iran? Do we have the balls to nuke them back? A nuclear attack in the next 4 years is all most a given. How will we respond?
How about the Euro? And its effect on a global economy? Those are just a few point that I don't feel our current leaders are intellectively capable of dealing with.
Romney is a politician, which is grounds for a sak kick, that being said he has amassed quite a nest egg , raised a fairly balanced family and bailed out an Olympic disaster. You are right we certainly deserve better, yet at this point I think we are going to have to make lemonade.

Could we do better? You betcha, but I can at least trust the he has the best interest of MY United States of American, which I cannot say the same for Obama. Obama has a vision for our country that is so far from mine I just have a had time believing any Americans can follow his dreams of hope and change. He want's us to be more like Europe. How's that working out for them right now? I just want a leader that pushed personal responsibility that doesn't believe government has the answer.

So for those that have indicated they are unhappy with both the Obama/Biden ticket as well as Romney/Ryan.......who do you feel would be a better fit (that is electable) and why do you like them more?

For me it's a bad pick because I don't think Ryan can win them the swing states.

I don't know about that. Romney was a bit on the left side for a lot of your real conservatives, so I think many of them were up in the air on what they wanted to do. They may not have voted Obama, but they certainly weren't beating the drums for Romney. I think Ryan will pull in a lot of the right-wingers and get them behind the campagin, while Romney's liberal ideas may still bring enough of the lefties across the aisle to make a difference.

WI was an Obama state in 08, and you can bet your bottom dollar they'll be a R/R state this year. So that's at least 1 in the plus column.

Wisco going blue with Ryan on the Republican ticket after Walker just dominated the recall election? Are you huffing glue again?

I can see FL going to the Dems - lots of old folk there scared into thinking R/R want to take their Medicaid.

Ohio I don't know about. I give it a 50/50 to go either way.

It fascinates me that some people think that by picking a conservative vp candidate that Romney has lost the swing states. Paul Ryan is not as extreme conervative as the Obama/Biden ticket is leftist. Meaning the Romney ticket shares more of the same values as the electorate than the Obama ticket does.

Exactly what world are you living in? Who said he's an extremeist? Because of his budget plan he's an easy target. The issue is more Romney than him.

What will be interesting is his stance on the Auto bailouts, being he voted for them. Being here in Toledo Oh Chrysler is hiring 1105 workers this month. How do you swing Romney not for them, but I was:poke:

Just to help people keep things straight, medicaid is for people on welfare. People retired on social security get MEDICARE. You are eligible for medicare when you reach 65.

Also, SSI is for those who are blind, disabled, or aged. It is income tested. (You can be aged and get little or nothing from social security.) SSI is paid from general tax revenues, not from the social security tax.

SSD is for the "disabled." It is not income tested. You just have to be "disabled." After 24 months on SSI, you are eligible for medicare. The funds come from the social security tax.

Which is a joke to begin with. What are your thoughts on this video Duke?

ANYONE who doesn't admit entitlement programs are the pink elephant in the room is either kidding themselves, or benefiting from said entitlements.
