I got this guy Friday evening. Our season ended on Sunday. I went to hunt west Texas because I faced antler restrictions in east Tx and does season ended in east Tx back in mid November. This was a meat hunt and I wasn't being picky with an empty freezer at home. Temps were in the mid 70s with 20-25 MPH winds. I wasn't feeling very optimistic. when I saw this deer I didn't hesitate. He wasn't a Rob buck when I shot him, he was a 5 point. He broke half his rack off after the shot. And he didn't shed it he broke it. There is a stump where it was. I searched for it and my arrow along the 75 yd blood trail but couldn't find either. he won't add many points for the contest but he will add protien to the menu. [img][/i
Good job Greg, thats an awsome story and it goes to show that it is always worth it to stick it out no matter what the conditions.
