    .....

Ok, so since I work overseas I won't have any to do anything but tune my bow. I get home right as the season opens, I was just gonna pick a spot on a map (East TN public land) and go out and sit to try my luck. I'll only be home a few weeks so do you think I'm wasting my time this year?

I think you are screwed. Everyone else here has been foaming at the mouth, practicing 4 hours/day, setting stands and resetting them, checking their cameras every other night.

But seriously, what "prepping" do you need to do? If you need to hang stands, get out asap and get them up. Otherwise, you should have been practicing all summer so bow is "prepped", and you should have put away all your gear in clean and good condition so nothing to worry about there.

Hit the spots you've had luck at in the past. A good spot is a good spot.

Get out there and hunt. Hunting "on the fly" is sometimes the most rewarding!

I'd just head into the woods and see what happens. Good luck!

You could grab a stand and go in to where your gonna be hunting on public land and scout with your stand in the middle of the day and just hang and hunt.

Get out in the woods and relax. Concentrate on just being out in the wild with nature and enjoy it all. If you get lucky, great if not you will still come back to society a better man.

I use this all the time. Depends on the place but try hunting in the morning then scouting midday at another spot the hunting evening at another.

biggest this is going to be finding your funnels and food sources. Once you find those, walk the area and find any scrapes, trails, possible bedding areas and post up near by. I wonted try any attractants outside of a mock scrap. the deer in that area wont be use to certain smells and you dont want to spook them. Im sure youll get your shot.

By the way, thank you for serving! :hail:

i'm in middle TN and if the population in east TN is like it is here, you should have no issues. plus with close to three full months of hunting something is bound to happen.
