    any thoughts??? i was dreading the traffic and possibly the taxes, but woulda been cool to see some of the events...

    I'm rejoicing.

    The projected cost was a mere 4.8 billion by King Daley's estimate. Of course the real cost probably would have been twice as high and you and I would be paying for it.... Illinois is so far in the hole... Chicago already has 10.25% sales tax... It would have been a nightmare.

    I'm not too upset by it. I don't really know how much money the Olympics brings in, but I can't imagine that it would cover the cost it takes to host it. It would have been kinda cool to have it so close to home though. I bet Obama thought we'd be a lock to host them since he showed up to speak.

    I just love how that pig Oprah running Chicago. Thank that pig for getting Obama elected and now she is pushing this.How are they ever going to get the money back!
