YEAH! I'm going back on days January 3rd!!

Last night at work, I had an email waiting for me from both the main supervisor and the boss (copies sent to both shift supervisors). I am all set and approved for starting back on dayshift. This is awesome! Thank you, Jesus!!!! :D

    Sunday 0800-1630
    Monday 0800-1630
    Tuesday 0800-1630
    Wednesday 0800-1630
    Thursday 0800-1630
    Friday OFF
    Saturday OFF

NO MORE NIGHT SHIFT! I WILL HAVE A LIFE AGAIN! :D

The best part... I'll be able to get back into hunting again (Fri & Sat off). Honest - I completely skipped this entire season. I never bought a hunting license and never even ventured out. Too many things going on, too tired, too grumpy, and well... after 24 wonderful years, this opposite shift crap (me=nights, wife=days) was actually starting to cause problems between us. So something had to give, you know? I mean, some people can work it and don't have a problem. Others work it and struggle. And yet, others absolutely can't work it and either quit the job or get divorced. I did my time (1 year, 8 months) and enough was enough. I have no life, I am constantly tired all the time, and it is actually starting to take a toll on my health.

Congrats Butch. I felt like that after I stopped working the swing shift, where I would work 7a-3p some days, while others I worked 3p-11p. It was tough. Thank god I am back on a 12 hour shift from 0645-1845. I am very happy for you man.

Thanks, guys... Yeah, it's been tough. I stuck it out as long as I could, but realized it was really starting to affect me personally, and affect my marriage.

Butch, were you working overnights, or like a 3-11?

Just a month or so ago I left the overnight shift and went onto a new position that is 7-3 .... it is AWESOME sleeping in bed every night!! My days fly and I feel so much better! Congrats, Bro, and yes ... Praise Jesus :)

I'm working 0000 (midnight) - 0830 as a gov't contractor on a military base. Thursday morning is like 5:00pm Friday for a normal person. So, now I'm off and trying to stay up to switch my body back around to day hours, so I can spend what little time I have with my wife and family.

I can relate. I have been on straight midnight 12 hour shifts 6p-6a for seven years and am ready for days. I enjoy the night work but it is rough on the family and hunting life. Congrats
