Well i checked my application and i had no luck getting a tag so my first turkey season will have to wait till next year This gives me time to get good at calling though and ill still go out and scout as if i got a tag so i have that knowledge for next year. When the the time comes im hoping to be as ready as possible. If anyone around me would let me tag along to watch and learn that would be great. So i can get some outside info on hunting turkeys and learn somethings If there are any takers let me know
Does Illinois not sell some over the counter? We have a draw in Wisconsin but we can still by some over the counter until they run out.
I thought it was just the drawing but I've looking into it and there is a over the counter tag for archery but im not totally sure
Over the counter for fall archery tags. Spring is by drawing and your chances of drawing on public land around here are slim to none. It can be done... I gave up..so there's one less person to pull your tag. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I747 using Tapatalk 2
In nj You can buy them over the counter after a certain date. It's usually the tags that aren't claimed by the winners or leftovers
Sorry to hear that you didn't get a permit. Stay tuned this spring to BHOD, since I'm going to try to give a few more tips on getting those Thunderchickens in our laps, so we can capitalize on the opportunities!
To bad your up north I have some areas down here that I have been scouting for the past few weeks. Appears to be some nice gobblers hanging around.
Man Im glad we dont have to draw for tags here in GA. I know we have a limit on 3 gobblers per season here.
Not sure what county you were wanting to hunt in but there is a random drawing you can put in for after March 11th. It looks like most counties have a few permits left mainly for the 4th and 5th seasons.
Yeah here in, NH we just buy the tags. We get two. One for a Tom in the spring and one either sex, for the fall.
Geez, can't imagine havin to draw a tag for turkey. Oly, c'mon down to KS OTC tags and I'll put ya on a bird. Seriously.. shoot me a PM if interested
