well I went hunting this afternoon and didnt see a thing. i was feeling down so i watched a hunting dvd and then I got to thinking that they only show the guy killing a monster buck. I wonder how many days that that guy had to hunt before seeing that buck. so I just wanna ask everybody how often is it that you go hunting and dont see a deer? :deer:

Probably a quarter of the time if I had to guess. It happens. Normally there are atleast some dumb tree rats goofin off or some other kinda critter out there to keep my mind right though. And knowing a monster could be on his way helps too lol.

I would say im about 50/50 this year. 90 percent of time I saw deer I could shoot though so its kinda all or nothing for me.

I have had 4 hunts that I have seen no deer, out of probably 30 hunts. I feel like I let myself down when I don't see a deer

I've been out at least a couple dozen times. I can only recall twice I didn't see any deer. Now within bow range, well that's another story.

I've been out close to a dozen times I'd say. I've only seen a deer twice. Both times they came within bow range however I elected to let the 2nd deer pass.

This year I have been out 12 times, and have seen deer each time. Close enough to shoot - that's another question.

I've had many hunts where I've never seen anything at all, and many other hunts where I've seen them way off in the distance.

I hunt in Central Illinois and I have been hitting a few new spots and I have only had one deerless outing....as many as 6-7 on good outings. The guys making DVD's have to have a lot of deerless outings...but they also hit some of the best spots.

I'm new but I've never seen one during a hunt. I've hunted maybe 20+ times for deer and Hog.

I've seen 49 deer all season. Out of all the does there were probably around 10-15 actual deer jst been seeing them at different times. I've been out close to 35 times and only twice I didn't see a deer.

Been on about 30 sits so far, and had one that I didn't see a deer. Probably had 5-6 sits when they were to far away to shoot. And no, this isn't normal. AMAZING year so far!! Makes up for all the past years I guess.

Seeing deer and deer in bowrange are different. We see deer on about 90% of sits, however only have shots on about 20% of those if I had to guess. Its getting funny this year because we have 2 local bucks we see about everytime - they fall for the grunt call everytime as well (small 4 & small ugly 8)

I guess it just sepends on the land your hunting on. I try to give myself the best chance possible to see deer and when I dont I feel like im doing something wrong. But like stated above your deffinitly not going to see one if you dont go.

Depends on where I hunt...on Drummond Island, MI I was 9 for 12 sits. In Hillsdale/Lenawee I have had about a 50/50 chance. Every day is a crap shoot especially this time of year.
