How? Why? I could see Bradford...maybe, but McCoy over Tebow? No way. What has McCoy done? Nothing. Has had 1 good season. If Tebow played for OSU, you would be hailing him as the greatest college football player of all-time, which he might be if he leads Florida to an undefeated season, another championship, and wins another Heisman.
buckeye, As much as I was raised to hate OSU, and trust me I do, I can respect your knowledge of the game and traditions. Especially the rivalry with UM. The hardcore fans in that rivalry still respect the other school. I root for OSU in their bowl games and against nonconference opponents because of respect and because I can't stand the southern schools sack riders.
SOUTHERN PLAYERS CAN'T PLAY IN THE COLD!!! Really? Why doesn't Michigan come down to LA and play in September?
As a fan, I wish more of the big schools would schedule each other for the nonconference games. But it's not their fault, it's the system.
Would Tebow be that great if he didn't play for such a talented team with great coaching? I am not so sure... Would he be good? Yes, this I am sure of... But great I cannot say. Bradford and McCoy to me are more pure quarterbacks than Tebow. I think all 3 are head and shoulders above any other QB's going into this season. But, that's what I love about college football.... Expect the unexpected! Imagine Bradford as a senior in college with a talented core of players around him. He would crush records... Most all of them.
Yes sir.... The only time I root against any BIG 10 team is when a loss by them would benefit the Bucks. Don't get me wrong... I am not going to lie... I enjoyed to loss to Ap State a couple years ago and the disaster last season (I cant stand RichRod) but I did not or would not wish those things upon UofM.
Understandable. And I can't stand Rod either, I really wish they had hired Brian Kelly. The guy wins at every level and he realizes you need a defense to win.
We don't have to imagine this. We will find out this year if he will "crush records". Unless you are implying that OU doesn't have a talented core of players around him, which is just absurd.
Because McCoy is everything you want in a quarterback. He's tough, humble, very talented and versatile. He's a good a runner (1200 yards, 17 touchdowns), just not as good as Tim Tebow. His passing ability is where he separates himself from him (9800 yards, 85 touchdowns). I personally think he is the best all around QB in college football, just because he can run better than Bradford and throw better then Tebow. And, just like my boy Brett, he came from NOWHERE to be a star. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AvhVXk7IZEc
First team all state selection in the state of Texas, which is arguably hosts the best HS football in the world. Then he went on to start at UT. I hardly call that coming from nowhere. Unless you are referrencing the town he grew up in, which would be irrelevant in Texas. They have great HS football players everywhere in that state.
Really? Doesn't look like he separates himself from Tebow that much to me. Despite almost having HALF the attempts and completions of McCoy, Tebow isn't that far behind Colt's numbers. If you halved Colt's number, he would have far less stats than Tebow. Tim Tebow Career Passing Stats: Attempts/Completion: 681/448 Completion Pct: 66.0% Yards: 6400 TDs: 67 INTs: 11 Colt McCoy Career Passing Stats: Attempts/Completion: 1175/825 Completion Pct: 70% Yards: 9700 TDs: 85 INTs: 33
McCoy has a higher completion percentage AND they have both combined for just over 100 scores (102 for McCoy, 110 for Tebow). Tebow has less than a 1,000 rushing yards more then McCoy, where McCoy has over 3,000 more passing yards. They are different types of QB's in different offenses, If i had to choose one to start a team with, it would be McCoy. The ability to run as a QB is overated in my opinion...i would rather have a guy who is mobile (McCoy), and has the ability to make any throw.
McCoy was also a full-time starter his freshman year. I would suspect him to have more passing yards. You failed to mention McCoy's 33 INTs compared to Tebow's 11... I think you need to take off your burnt orange glasses...
